Il Canton Ticino si conferma all’avanguardia nel soccorso
delle vittime di arresto cardiaco.
È stata inaugurata lo scorso 26 marzo 2011 in
Piazza Riforma a Lugano la prima stazione per defibrillatori pubblici della Svizzera.
La struttura, nata dalla collaborazione della Fondazione Ticino
Cuore e della SUPSI, è stata donata dal Cardiocentro Ticino alla città di Lugano.
Si tratta di un sistema modulare, che può essere configurato e adattato alle diverse situazioni urbane e alle singole esigenze di spazio. Oltre ad
essere dotata della strumentazione adeguata, è univocamente riconoscibile in tutto il Cantone, integrandosi con l’ambiente e adeguandosi ai moderni canoni di sostenibilità ecologica: è infatti
autoalimentata con un pannello fotovoltaico.
Nei prossimi mesi verranno installate altre stazioni in varie località del nostro territorio.

Did you realize that sudden cardiac arrest is a particularly serious condition that affects about 200-250 people every year in Ticino? Early intervention on the part of those present at the scene of an arrest, through basic life support and reanimation procedures and the use of semi-automatic defibrillators, can be a determining factor in the prognosis and the quality of life of the patient. The FCTSA (Ticinese Federation of Ambulance Services), under the mandate of the Department of Health and Social Services of the Canton Ticino and thanks to the support of the Ticino Cuore Foundation, has been given the job of promoting, in all of Canton Ticino, the acquisition of basic skills in cardiopulmonary reanimation and the use of defibrillators by people with no training in health-related fields.
