The training offer

In October 2010, the latest five-yearly recommendations, which involve the guidelines delivered by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), were issued on the basis of the data gathered from various international studies. As for the Swiss case, the Swiss Resuscitation Council (SRC), which is in charge of outlining recommendations on a national scale, adhered and recognized both the America Heart Association (AHA) and the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) guidelines. Consequently, the Medical Commission of the Ticino Cantonal Federation of Ambulance Services (FCTSA), which is appointed by the cantonal doctor who defines and selects the content of the courses offered to nonprofessional first responders, decided to adhere to the same guidelines offered by the AHA. This was done to create a coherent offer to both more advanced and professional emergency medical technicians as well as for non-professionals volunteers.

Emergency medical services and their training programs, which adhere to the FCTSA, are formally recognized by the SRC. In greater detail, there are 280 instructors who guarantee a professional training and education for more than 6'000 persons per year. The added value of a professional training course lies in the close collaboration with experts in the field of prehospital emergency care. In this way, we can manage to integrate theoretical notions and on-the-field experience.

Furthermore, we provide custom-made courses according to the specific needs of each participant. In addition to this, we also offer the BLS/AED course with other in-depth subjects (such as traumatology, accident prevention studies, medicine, pediatric emergency care, and so on.). For any further detailed information about the BLS/AED courses, please feel free to fill in our specific form and we shall get back to you as soon as possible.
